Last week, I participated in the UTS Tech Fest Game Jam! Teams had 2 days to create a game centred around the theme "greed"

I was in a team of 5, with Dawn, Milo, Juno and Cassia
Juno worked on the art for the game, while everyone else worked on making the actual game.

The game we made was called "The Greed Wizard"
It's a bullet hell game about rescuing a forest from the control of an evil (greedy) wizard.

We didn't get to quite finish the game in those two days, and unfortunately we weren't selected as one of the winners of the game jam.

Hack Club
Hack Club is a non-profit organisation headquartered in the United States which aims to empower high school students in software development.
They regularly run events where students can work on whatever projects they want, and depending on the amount of work they put in they're able to claim free prizes

Hack Club
Their most recent event is called Stardance, in collaboration with NASA.
I've participated in other Hack Club events and even gotten small prizes from them, so when I heard about Stardance I decided I'd work on something for the event and see if I could get an even cooler prize

Enter in my latest project, Initiative.
Initiative is going to be a Dungeons and Dragons character building app made in Rust.
I'm making it because existing online character builders (dnd beyond) SUCK!!!! I HATE THEM!!!! dnd beyond is a terrible terrible website and i hate using it

So far, the project is still in a very early phase, and the only thing I've properly finished is dice rolling.

One of the things you have to do as part of Stardance is post regular devlogs on your project.

fortinet make firewalls n shit . their firewalls and network technology power detnsw
i mean i guess it isnt technically free cuz you do have to work for it but you can work on literally anything
you can make character sheets with websites or just draw them on paper, but i prefer to use websites/apps
"and i hate using it" so im gonna make my own better replacement
this is a Lot more complicated than it looks however.. a lot of the difficulty of this project comes from the sheer amount of stuff i have to implement from dnd, like stats, bonuses, skills, equipment, spells, and so so many more things
it doesn't help that i'm trying to make everything as perfect as i can before moving on with it, which is also why making this dice rolling system took me a few days to complete
let me show you an example of how much effort ive put into the implementation of the dice
you can just . add them together like numbers in math
this seems really simple in concept but is difficult to actually implement
i've started work on my video profile! not much done so far but
libvirt?
2321 servers, up from around 2200 from last term
